ARTICLES (There are also various articles to download only. Click Here) (The book 'Psychic Wars' is a fascinating look into the research of many scientists around the world and what they have only partially concluded. Gruber, a scientist himself, makes some quite interesting conclusions and sets some new lines of thinking going in the process.) 1. Extracts from 'Psychic Wars' by Elmar R. Gruber, 1999. "EEG patterns during mystic and transpersonal experiences show a sharp two part split of the wave patterns into very high frequency and very low frequency waves. This split equates to an excited condition of attention (high frequency waves) and a condition of deep relaxation (low frequency waves). When such conditions develop, initially low frequency waves of 1-6 Hz (delta & theta waves) occur in the centre of the cortex. Presumably this switches off our normal space-time perception. As soon as we descend more deeply into a transcendental condition, the wave frequencies separate. The decisive electrical activity shifts from the centre to the temporal lobe - an effect more marked in women than men - where there is an increase of high frequency beta and extremely high frequency gamma waves." "Normal brain waves frequency in the temporal lobes are hardly ever more than 20mV power, but in transcendental states, virtual eruptions of from very low to very high voltages can be measured. It is almost as if fireworks were constantly being set off in the temporal lobes." Example During examinations of the 70-yr. old healer Rod Campbell, the EEG recorded extremely high frequency gamma waves of 18-32 Hz at 9.7mV, of 32-64 Hz at 29.9mV and 64-128 Hz at 39mV in the temporal lobes. People in ecstatic states have even reached eruptions of gamma waves with 120-150mV Gamma waves appear to be the hallmark for the loss of the normal ego demarcations. It could well be that the concentration of these extremely high frequency waves in temporal lobes cuts off the normal input of sensory information and 'switches over' the brain to the passing on of extra sensory and mystic experiences"
Morris wote a really interesting book all the way back in the Victorian era in 1888. Much of what he says has relevance today when so much is taken for granted about spiritualism and mysticism. 2. THE TRANCE AS THE DOORWAY TO THE OCCULT OUR topic is "The Trance as the Doorway to the Occult," dealing with it in its natural, magnetic, and spiritual methods of induction, and endeavouring, as a consequence, to show you what a wondrous and marvellous doorway into the unseen there is treasured within the life possibilities of all humanity; for we hold it as one of the cardinal principles of being, that the constitution of humanity at large is practically a unit in its character, that there is no possibility pertaining to any one of the children of earth that is not also latent in all other of earth's children. The variations of development, the peculiarities and idiosyncrasies of individual character, and the opportunities of exercise, alone constitute the differentiating conditions, which give to one a seeming excess of development, and to another no apparent manifestation at all. But, by and by, in the progress of humanity, when the laws of being are more correctly and truly understood, it will be found how each and all of you, within the measure of your capacities, in accordance with your possibilities, and in relation to your requirements, will be able to develop all the possibilities that are latent in humanity, collectively as well as individually. Then, mystery, and all the results of ignorance and superstition shall be banished from the pathway, and the unseen and spiritual life of man, with all its qualities and attributes, shall stand revealed as plainly and as clearly to the understanding as do your surroundings in the external universe to-day. Now this is very interesting. But even as you download it, it's out of date by 5 years. The government labs will have moved on and probably come up with much more interesting insights than this document outlines. It still makes interesting reading for those curious about our Gov'ts response to Psychic phenomena. A study was undertaken in 2001-2002 to investigate theories about capabilities to gather information remotely about what people may be seeing and to determine the potential value, if any, of such theories to Defence. The Ministry of Defence has released the findings of this study in response to a Freedom of Information request and we are pleased to now make it available to a wider audience via the MOD Freedom of Information Disclosure Log. Where indicated information has been withheld in accordance with Section 26 (Defence), Section 27 (International Relations), Section 40 (Personal Information), Section 41 (Information Provided In Confidence) and Section 43 (Commercial Interests) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
