Colin
Clark paints mainly in Oil and he is currently working on a
new body of paintings based on 'a sense of place' in landscape.
His fascination with atmosphere and mood was originally generated
by spending time in the fabulous Cotswolds, where he lives. This
has led to developing paintings that capture some of the elusive
qualities of how viewing certain landscapes create a shifting state
of mind.
Colin
is also investigating the environment of 'sacred landscape' and
has begun working on a series of paintings that explore an implicit
spiritual response to certain natural locations.
Colin's
style of painting is mostly impressionistic and bold with a freely
moving brush and palette knife. He paints thickly and with expression,
working quickly to capture the mood and spirit of the moment, often
outside and in all weathers.
Other
types of work such as portraiture and still life are also included
in the Gallery area.
